Parents and Kids "Get Up and Move" for their Health

Kids and parents got up and moved today at Baldwin school to learn more about combating childhood obesity.

Organizers say about 75 kids and parents came out for the event.

Parents went to health information sessions, while kids made healthy snacks and exercised.

Co-chair Carrie Kimber says she hopes parents and kids continue what they've learned.

"Hopefully people, families, and organizations, even, we've got some physicians here as well, will get some real ideas in terms of how to help families and how to help kids get more active," she said.

Organizers say they are continuing their efforts in the Spring with "Friday Night Play Night" to get families active in their neighborhoods.
