QU Hosts Chili Cookoff

Sunday Quincy University's Heath and Fitness Center was full of activity, but it wasn't exercising. It was eating!

QU's Mart Heinen Athletic Booster Club held its 24th annual chili cookoff to raise money for university athletics. Nine tables of chili chefs were there to compete.

Diane Giesing has done the cookoff for 15 years and says it's more than just a fundraiser.

"We actually decorate our booth every year which is a lot of fun. You get a lot of the same people coming back and you know just testing the chilis... a little bit of competition fun so we have a good time," she said.

Competitors could win for people's choice, judge's choice and best decorations. The event also included a raffle and cash bash.

ALL of the proceeds go directly to QU athletics.
