CANTON, MO. (WGEM) -- The reclamation project at Culver-Stockton continues surrounding the men's basketball program and with only a handful of games left, post season positioning is starting to be one of the team's top goals.

The Wildcats win over nationally ranked MidAmerica Nazarene over the weekend has Jack Schrader's group in a third place tie with Benedictine in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings and just a game behind co-leaders Evangel and MidAmerica Nazarene.

Now the plan is to finish strong.

"I think that's always the goal," Schrader told WGEM Sports.

"If you're good enough to get to the National Tournament you're good enough to beat anybody."

"We have to take care of business, and so far we have and I hope we continue to do that these last four or five weeks"

Players inside of the Wildcat locker room feel the sense of urgency, especially the seniors who know this is a last opportunity to make history.

"At the beginning of the year coming in coach said we want to get back to National Tournament," said senior guard Marshawn Norris.

"With me being in my last year, along with Austin Keaton, Jimmy McKee we definitely go out with bang and leave the younger guys with something to build on."

A national tournament berth would be the Wildcats first in more than a half century.

Next up is a home game with Missouri Valley on Thursday before a trip to Avila Saturday.
