Court records say firefighters found Kuan lying on the floor of his residence on Dec. 5. His wife, Lyn Kuan, had escaped the house but had suffered severe burns.

Prosecutors say Tom Kuan dumped gasoline on his wife and himself and then ignited it.

Kuan remained in Scott County Jail on Thursday, pending $100,000 bail. Online court records don't list the name of his attorney.
