Great River Eagle Days attendees get up close and personal with eagles

Families turned out Saturday afternoon for Great River Eagle Days in Quincy

Attendees had to chance to see a Bald Eagle, as well as other birds up, close and personal at America's Best Value Inn.

Hotel General Manager David Ripper says he hopes this event gains momentum to become a yearly tradition.

"The turnout has been absolutely marvelous. This is a really great thing for a first year event and we're really hoping to grow this and create more events like this for the city of Quincy," Ripper said.

The day also included Native American dancers and booths featuring more of Native American cultures.
