The Miss Quincy Scholarship Program is now looking for contestants for its 2013 program of pageants.
This year's program is March 23 at the Quincy Community Theater. Contestants ages 6-24 can compete in the Miss Quincy, Miss Gem City, Miss Quincy Outstanding Teen, Miss Quincy Outstanding Pre-Teen and Little Miss Quincy pageants.
To be eligible, contestants for Miss Quincy must be between the ages of 17-24, a U.S. citizen, a resident or attending school in Adams, Brown, Pike, Hancock or Schuyler Counties. Contestants entering the Miss Gem City pageant can live or go to school anywhere in the state of Illinois. A $100 donation to Children's Miracle Network, the official platform of the Miss America Organization, must also be raised to compete in the local pageant. The winners of each title will compete at the Miss Illinois state competition.
Contestants for Little Miss Quincy must be between the ages of 6-9 and a resident of Adams, Brown, Pike, Hancock or Schuyler Counties. A $25 entry fee is required to compete.
Contestants for Miss Quincy's Outstanding Teen must be between the ages of 13-17 (and no older than a junior in high school) and a resident of Adams, Brown, Pike, Hancock or Schuyler Counties. The winner will compete for the title of Miss Illinois Outstanding Teen, the state preliminary to Miss America's Outstanding Teen in Orlando, Florida.
To be eligible, contestants for Miss Quincy's Outstanding Pre-Teen must be between the ages of 10-12 and a resident in Adams, Brown, Pike, Hancock or Schuyler Counties. A $100 sponsorship fee must be obtained to compete in either pageant.
