Carthage Man Killed in Car Accident

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) -

 A Carthage man is dead after a his car crashes in Hancock County. Illinois State troopers say 36 year old Curtis Fleming was driving north on Country Road 1600E at County Road 1200N when he drove his car off the roadway and into the ditch. This happened at around 2:30 in the morning on Sunday.

Troopers say the car went airborne after striking an embankment and flipped over. They say Fleming was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car. Troopers report the car and the driver were found at around 6:30 by another driver.

The accident was worked by Illinois State Police, the Hancock County Sheriff's Department, and the Carthage Fire Department.
