Authorities say the number of traffic crashes in Quincy was at a 10-year low in 2012.
According to our news-gathering partners the Quincy Herald Whig, there were 1,130 accidents this past year. That's a 7 percent drop from 2011 and a 33 percent dip from the 10-year high.
Police chief Rob Copley says the department started a traffic campaign about eight years ago.
The Whig reports there were also 201 injuries from accidents last year, which is also down thirteen from 2011.
Also accidents related to driving under the influence also dropped.
