Quincy's Newcomb Hotel owner offering deed to city

The city of Quincy is being offered the deed to the Newcomb Hotel building.

According to our newsgathering partners at the Quincy Herald-Whig, building owner Victor Horowitz is offering the deed to the city to avoid foreclosure proceedings.

Horowitz owes the city roughly $477,000 in overdue payments and taxes. The city's Revolving Loan Committee is expected to discuss the deed proposal Thursday in a closed session meeting.
