QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- There is less than five months from the start to the 40th anniversary of the Pepsi/Titan Little People's Golf Championships.
Starting Friday any youngster starting at age three, ranging to a 22-year old collegiate golfer, can sign up for the annual event showcasing some of the top junior players from around the United States and across the pond.
Executive director Nan Ryan is in Quincy this week attempting to drum up interest.
Ryan has no plans of making June's tournament the last.
"I'd like to see it go on for a long time," she told WGEM Sports.
"How long I'm going to be doing it? As long as I'm able to think straight, move around and be mobile, I certainly hope to be doing it. I love to do it. I've loved doing it the 40 years we've done it and I look forward to many more years."
Ryan says the 40th year of the Pepsi/Titan Little People's Golf Championships will certainly be one to remember.
She adds plans are in place to invite PGA Tour golfers and tournament alums Luke Guthrie, D.A. Points, and Todd Hamilton back to Quincy this summer.
