Keokuk Woman Injured in Accident

HAMILTON, Ill. (WGEM) -

A Keokuk woman was taken from the scene by helicopter Saturday after her car went off the side of a ravine near the Golden Point Church in Hamilton.

Hancock County Sheriff's Department officials say the accident happened just after 6 p.m. Saturday, Alexis Runge, 23, of Keokuk, lost control of her car and went off the roadway.

Sheriff's officials say was Runge complaining of neck pain and was later taken by helicopter to an area hospital.

The extent of her injuries are not known. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
