Some music students at Quincy Senior High School are being recognized by the state in a very big way.
In total, 25 QHS students were selected by the Illinois Music Education Association as All-State Musicians.
With that number, QHS has the second highest amount of All-State musicians in Illinois.
Kathi Dooley, QHS' Music Director, says she is proud of her students and also credits the hard work from her staff for the accomplishment.
"We have these wonderful, wonderful, wonderful teachers who work with them every day, day in and day out, to perfect these skills and help them hone their talents and really they deserve all the credit," said Dooley.
Those making the list are Nathan Allwood, Kara Bainter, Sullivan Finlay, Caleb Fischer, Bradley Fitzgerald, Matthew Frankenhoff, Sara Gomez, Sarah Haschemeyer, Emily Helmreich, Erin Kroeger, Hanna Kroeger, Allison Lawler, Susan Leimbach, Dinah Mikkelson, Joseph Musholt, Thomas O'Connor, Jessica Raney, Dominic Regner, Benjamin Reinhardt, Sierra Schnack, Jacob Schumacher, Jay Stalder, Brianna Trumpfheller, Kelsi Zaerr and Katherine Zbornak.
