A vacant building in downtown Hannibal gets new life.
The Hannibal City Council unanimously agreed to sell the former Murphy Motors building for $225,000. Co-owner Bill Martin says he would like to put multiple new businesses under one roof in the 400 block of Main Street.
City manager Jeff LaGarce thinks the sale will have a positive impact on the city.
"I think it will bring some scenery to compliment the downtown businesses to proposing a store with a Microbrew. It'll add a nice attraction to downtown Hannibal," said LaGarce.
The Hannibal City Council also voted to table the decision on putting in speed tables on Stardust Drive in an effort to slow down speeders.
There was a lot of discussion on whether to raise the speed limit from 25 to 30, which would impact how high the speed table would have to be set.
