Culver-Stockton College adds new online Masters programs

If you're looking for a local college or university to get an MBA, you can now go online thanks to Culver-Stockton College.

Dozens came out to the Pier Restaurant in Quincy Wednesday as Culver-Stockton College announced an online Master's program starting in August.

Culver-Stockton's online MBA program is unique to the area due to the three specialized degree tracks offered. Along with a specialization in management, C-SC is also offering a specialization in accounting & finance and a dual-track, double degree Master of Business Administration/Master of Science in Nursing (MBA/MSN) offered in partnership with Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing.

Administrators talked about offering an online Master's program since 2006, and it's just another way to help students.

"The ability and the opportunity to continue your education is critical in today's job market. And having that knowledge and the knowledge you gain from a master's program really does help you to advance," said MBA Chair Dell Ann Janney.

Janney also said the college will accept 15 students into each program, but they will add more staff if necessary.

All courses will be offered completely online, with five 8-week sessions starting in the fall and continuing year-round through the summer. A business degree is not mandatory for acceptance in the program, though there are some undergraduate prerequisites necessary for admission.
