MACOMB, Ill. (WGEM) -- Bob Nielson has hit the ground running in his first two months on the job as Western Illinois football coach.
On Wednesday he unveiled his first recruiting class.
Of the 21 commits Nielson and his staff signed, 11 are on the offensive side of the football while 10 are defensive players.
The emphasis was up front with 10 players either on the offensive or defensive lines.
Nielson is certainly pleased with the results.
"I think it's a good class. I told people I felt confident we were going to be able to put together a good class and I certainly believe we've done that," he told WGEM Sports.
"They're a group of outstanding people first and foremost, great students, and the kinds of players that we need to develop in our system to be successful at this level."
