Local veterans got the chance to take a step back in time Saturday.
The American Red Cross hosted a World War II "USO" style musical show for veterans at the Illinois Veterans' Home in Quincy.
Veterans were treated to cookies as they watched the performances.
Organizers say the veterans enjoy the World War II era music of the show.
"The veterans love it. The songs are upbeat. They're from the era that they grew up in so they enjoy hearing the old time songs," said Pam Shaffer of the American Red Cross.
The Red Cross also hosts a similar event close to Flag Day.
