Quincy Police Support Special Olympics through "Tip a Cop"

Some local police officers were posing as waiters Monday night. They weren't under cover, they were raising money for a good cause.

Officers with the Quincy Police Department helped dole out wings and french fries to hungry customers at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Diners were encouraged to leave a special "tip" for the officers that would help support Special Olympics Illinois.

"It's very important, our officers have been very receptive to helping out at these types of events and volunteering their time to come out and help," said Officer Kelly Vandermaiden.

Officers say they were also promoting their law enforcement torch run in June.
