Ursa AmVets facility damaged in hit and run

URSA, Ill. (WGEM) -

The AmVets building in Ursa has reportedly sustained heavy damage after it was hit by a vehicle Monday morning.

According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, a black truck was heading westbound on Route 61 sometime after midnight when the driver failed to stop at the Route 96 intersection and struck the northside of the building.

The driver left the scene of the accident.

If you have any information, call the Adams County Sheriff's Office at 277-2200.

This isn't the first time a vehicle failed to stop at the intersection. Back in 2010, a stolen minivan was driven onto the property and damaged a piece of World War II artillery.
