Latest Blessing Hospital report shows gradual decline in flu cases

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Federal health officials say the worst of the flu season appears to be over and new numbers from Blessing Hospital reflect that.

Blessing Hospital officials report that last week, there were 12 positive tests for the flu. That's only half of what was reported the week of December 23.

While cases are down, health officials say you still need to protect yourself by getting a flu shot and washing your hands often.

Blessing Hospital weekly positive flu test numbers are listed below:

  • Dec. 23 - 24 positive tests.
  • Dec. 30 - 19 positive tests.
  • Jan. 6 - 19 positive tests.
  • Jan. 13 - 14 positive tests.
  • Jan. 20 - 9 positive tests.
  • Jan. 27 - 5 positive tests.
  • Feb. 3 - 12 positive tests.
  • Feb. 10 - 2 positive tests.
