The end of the fiscal year is just a few months away, and the city of Quincy is making the necessary amendments.
Aldermen voted to amend the current budget to increase the city council insurance and group health fund.
Mayor John Spring says this was done to accommodate some adjustments - namely some added dependents by council members.
He says budget amendments like this are common for this time of year.
"It is time to correct that and we just transfer monies into that fund. It doesn't happen all that often, usually it's just the opposite where maybe we were under budget and were able to move money back into our general fund," he said.
Aldermen also heard the first reading of another amendment, which has to do with the library project fund.
That will be read three times before adoption.
