Quincy Planning Commission Tables Comprehensive Plan

Planning commissioners will wait another month before considering the city's proposed comprehensive plan - the first since 1986.

On Tuesday night planning commissioners voted to table the plan until next month, to give commissioners the opportunity to take a closer look at it.

If approved, it will go to city council for final approval.

The data for the plan was collected from the 2010 census numbers and input from residents through public meetings and workshops.

According to Quincy City Planner Chuck Bevelheimer, the plan outlines possibilities for certain neighborhoods within the city, including possible commercial or multifamily development.
