
CarterThe Quincy man charged with the January murder of Terry Williams was declared fit for trial during a motion hearing Wednesday.
Vincent Carter, 44, appeared with his attorney, Adams County Public Defender Holly Henze, who withdrew a motion for a fitness examination that was filed Jan. 10.
Carter was charged with first degree murder after he allegedly shot and killed Williams with a small caliber handgun during an altercation at 219 S. 11th Street in Quincy. After escaping the scene on foot, Carter was captured the following morning.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 27 at 1:45 p.m.
