Union workers agreed to a new four-year contract with Pinnacle Foods Thursday in Fort Madison.
Union President Darin Boatman said the employees overwhelming voted "yes" on the contract which will allow them to keep their pensions and give them pay raises over the length of the deal. Boatman said that 387 workers voted on the contract, and about 75 percent of them voted "yes."
The employees will continue to work, as they have been, and the paperwork will be finalized next week.
After negotiating a new contract for several months, the union agreed to move to strike but never ended up doing so.
