The worst may be over when it comes to the flu this season.
According to the CDC, 31 states are reporting widespread flu activity -- that's down from 38 last week.
Physicians at Blessing Fast Care at Quincy's ShopKo say they're seeing half as many cases as they did during peak flu season, with numbers especially tapering off in the last week.
Trisha Nelson, a nurse at Blessing Fast Care says there are several reasons for the decline.
"I think part of it is just education and more people getting flu shots and then with the weather being so nice also it hit early this year so we saw a lot up front and less now," said Nelson.
Nelson says even though flu season seems to be winding down, it's still a good idea to get a flu shot if you've been putting it off.
