The Quincy Public Library came to the rescue Monday of parents with bored kids on their day off school.
The library hosted its second 'No School Showtime', playing "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" while families munched on popcorn and sipped soda.
Organizers say the goal is to get families in the door and excited about reading.
Rebecca Wallace helps out with her nieces and nephew. She says days like this at the library are important.
"Today is a day off of school and this is a great way to entertain the children, to be with their friends, and pick out some new books, and just stress the importance of reading," Wallace said.
Library officials say this is part of a series of no-school activity days and they have events planned for months to come.
