Texas Roadhouse Prepares To Open

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

The anticipation is building for the opening of Quincy's newest national chain restaurant. Texas Roadhouse will open to customers a week from Monday, but employees are already hard at work.

Owner Ken Burnett said the Texas Roadhouse near 52nd and Broadway has 188 employees hard at work this entire week. 

They'll get additional training before the grand opening on February 25th, they're hosting two invitation only rehearsal dinners this weekend, with some proceeds going to charity.

Burnett said he hopes the new business will help the local economy.

 "I'm hoping it's, you know, brings all kind of business here and people from around the 40 mile square radius, and hopefully it'll help out the community and stimulate a little bit of more business," he said.

Burnett said though all positions are filled right now, he's always accepting applications.
