Does your child have the necessary social skills to make a smooth transition into Kindgarten?
The Quincy Park District is launching a kindergarten prep program for kids starting kindergarten next fall.
Students will explore counting, letters, writing, music, story time and enjoy crafts and games.
Organizers hope the program will help make the transition easier for kids from home to kindergarten.
"Kids that either haven't been able to go to early childhood center classes or a preschool for those kids to help prepare them, so that kindergarten isn't the first time they've been in a school setting. To help them and prep them for those kinds of activities," said Mike Bruns, the Director of Program Services for the Quincy Park District.
The eight week course is $15 and meets on Friday mornings from 9-11 a.m. starting March 1.
If you'd like to register your child, you can sign up at the park district office or www.quincyparkdistrict.com.
