Quincy Notre Dame is one win away from another trip to Redbird Arena, and a shot at a 3rd consecutive state championship.
QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- The Road to Redbird Arena is nearly at the finish line for the Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders, who have navigated their way through the class 3A field with relative ease to this point.
The latest result was 62-37 victory over Champaign Centennial in Saturday's Mt. Zion Sectional championship.
On Monday night, it's a trip to the University of Illinois-Springfield, where QND will meet Breese Mater Dei, in hope of punching a ticket to this weekends Final Four in Bloomington.
It's going to be a quick turn around for both teams, with less than 48 hours to prepare following Saturday's games.
The battle tested Lady Raiders are confident that they'll be ready.
"The three games that we had earlier this season when we played Nashville, Springfield, and Rolling Meadows really prepared us for having multiple games in a row that are going to be tough for us," senior guard Kassidy Gengenbacher told WGEM Sports.
"I think that having games like that during the regular season really set us up for the post season."
"That's what the post season is all about," added junior guard Kristen Gengenbacher.
"Just having a short memory and working hard every single day, every single practice. We're all looking forward to going out there on Monday and keep the momentum going."
QND and Mater Dei are schedule to tip at 7:30 PM on Monday night at the 3A UIS supersectional.
Radio coverage of the game can be found on WGEM ESPN 1440 beginning at 7:00 PM.
