College financial aid can be daunting for incoming college students and their families, and Sunday they got some help from some pros.
JWCC staff helped students electronically file their FAFSA Form.
They say it's important for them to fill out and submit their FAFSA form in a timely manner - even if they don't know where they're going to school.
They say the later they wait, the harder it is to get scholarship money.
It's best to do that as soon as possible to get in line for that federal aid, the Illinois grant - which is called the MAP Grant - does run out quickly, so that's the big one to get in for, that is usually cut off in March so it's good to do that soon," said Julie Porter.
JWCC Staff say one thing that people tend to ask about are the numbers from their taxes that need to go on the FAFSA, And some other general questions about things like household size.
