McDonough County Sheriff Rick VanBrooker says a Bushnell man is now behind bars after a traffic stop Saturday night lead to his arrest.
Russell W. Sipes, 47, was the passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at 1900 W. Jackson St. in Macomb. After the deputy became suspicious, Sipes was found to have coffee filters containing suspected meth, around five grams of cannabis, pseudophedrine pills, aluminum foil with suspected meth residue and a digital scale.
Sipes was charged with possession of methamphetamine (under 5 grams), unlawful possession of methamphetamine precursors, possession of cannabis (2.5-10 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sipes was lodged in the McDonough County Jail pending his first court appearance.
