Is your teen looking for a summer job?
Yes, it may sound a bit early, but some places are already looking to hire. Officials with Quincy's Park District say they're now taking applications for this summer.
About 150 positions need to be filled, ranging from lifeguards, to concession stand workers, to batting cage operators.
Park District officials say even though it's still winter, they want to fill positions early.
"We feel if we were to wait later, people would then get other summer jobs, and then we have less of a pool to draw from, so it's best to just get a good start and get the word out to everybody as soon as possible," said Mark Callaway, Quincy Park District's Director of Recreation.
The Park District is holding a job fair March 7 from 2-6 p.m. at the Emerson Community Center for those interested in a job.
"This is a great way for new applicants to get their foot in the door. Supervisors such as myself will conduct a short interview with them, and we answer questions about the positions," said Callaway.
You must be 16 to apply.
You can also head to the Quincy Park District's website to fill out an application.
