National Franchise Looking at Former "Johnny Bang Bang's" Building

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - A new business could be coming down on Quincy's riverfront - but the national franchise says - there's a better chance of them coming - if there's a traffic change.

7th Ward Alderman Jack Holtschlag has asked for a special traffic commission meeting tomorrow night to look at putting a four way stop at Front and Hampshire - right by the former "Johnny Bang Bang's" building.

There's no word yet on what franchise is looking to move in, but Holtschlag says the city should be accommodating.

"It's good for our riverfront, we're wanting to start some development down there and with the Shortridge's next door and their condos and stuff we're really wanting to get a main restaurant or whatever down there, it be a good thing," says Holtschlag.

Holtschlag says they hope to come up with a recommendation during this special meeting to take to the city council on Monday night.
