Salvation Army Majors Andy and Cheryl Miller greeted by community

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

The new leaders on the Quincy Salvation Army were introduced to the community Thursday.

Majors Andy and Cheryl Miller were welcomed by Quincy Mayor John Spring during a luncheon at the Kroc Center.

The Milllers officially started work here a few weeks ago, and say it's already been a great experience.

"The feel of this community seems to be one that just gets along with each other and makes things work. It is just a beautiful thing. And our advisory leaders here in Joe Kirlin and in Hannibal, John Hark, they just make you feel like a part of the family. And that's what you feel like in this community," said Major Andy Miller.

The Majors come from the Kansas and Western Missouri Division, where they have served since 2009.

Quincy is their 12th assignment in the Salvation Army.
