New website helps Wever fertilizer plant construction workers find future housing

Posted:

It is expected that 1,200 workers will be needed this year alone for the construction of the new fertilizer plant in Wever.

With the influx of workers headed to the area, there is a desperate need for housing.

Local economic development officials have teamed up and created a new website: southeast Iowa housing dot com.

The classified style site gives workers a list of local housing options from apartments to hotels to R-V parks.

The site launched Thursday. Officials hope expand the site in the future.
