Quincy Family YMCA sets high campaign goal

Posted:
QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

It's a campaign to get those into the YMCA who may not be able to fully afford it.  The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign set a goal of $93,000 this year, which is $8,000 more than last year.  Those at the campaign Thursday night are some of the volunteer campaigners that will be working for the YMCA in March, and Development Director Amy Adair says their help is needed more than ever.

"We are finding within the community that the need for financial assistance is always growing and it's greater this year than it's ever been in the past," Adair said.

Adair says just last year, the YMCA spent $25,000 in financial assistance on the School Age Child Care Program alone.
