The Quincy City Council will hear a recommendation from the Quincy Traffic Commission to install a four-way stop at Front and Hampshire.
The commission approved a recommendation Thursday. Jack Holtschlag, 7th Ward Alderman, asked for the four way stop right by the former "Johnny Bang Bang's" building, as part of a tentative agreement with a national franchise to put in a new business.
City Engineer Jeff Steinkamp says the traffic commission voted to recommend the idea, with the stipulation that the new business actually does come to Quincy.
"When I'm hearing, 500-600 patrons a day there, that's going to generate a lot of pedestrian counts at that intersection and I think the commission thought that would be a safe thing to do to get the traffic stopped at that intersection," said Steinkamp.
Monday's city council meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.
