QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

A crowd packed into the Oakley-Lindsay Center to kick off this weekend's WGEM Home and Living Show.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony got things started Friday night, with more than 125 vendors this year, including one who's doing something a little different this year.

"We've been in the show about eight years now and just wanted to try something different and instead of just selling the food already made we decided to sell it to the people right then and there. So we brought down the barbeque wagon down to cook out for the customers," says Dan Veihl, the owner of Butcher Block.

Members of the WGEM team will be on hand to meet people as they walk into the event. The WGEM Home and Living Show runs through 9 p.m. Saturday, and from Noon-4 p.m. on Sunday.

Admissions is $4, but kids age 12 and under are admitted free. You can click here to print a $1 coupon towards admission for the show.
