Quincy Girl Uses Birthday To Raise Money For Cancer

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Jasmine Cobb's 11th birthday party on Saturday was pretty typical, complete with Justin Bieber balloon.

The one difference? Her presents weren't for her.

The birthday girl decided for the second year in a row to collect money for her Relay for Life team, a cause close to her heart.

"I know a couple people who have survived cancer, and I want everybody else to have more birthdays," said Cobb.

That's just what the American Cancer Society says it is looking to do as well.

Cobb says she raised about $950 last year, and is hoping she can beat that this year before Relay for Life in June.
