RUSHVILLE, Ill. (WGEM) -

A Tuesday night accident claims the life of a Rushville woman.

According to the Illinois State Police, 43-year-old Suzanne Bartlett was killed after her car was hit head on by a semi on US 67 near IL 101.

Police say heavy winds caused the driver of the semi, Timothy Michael, to lose control on the snow and ice covered highway.

He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Michael was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions and violation of the 14 hour rule.
