Five people arrested in Hannibal for "Gallon Smash" YouTube prank

A new viral video trend called "Gallon Smashing" has hit the Tri-States, and has led to the arrest of four juveniles and an adult in Hannibal.

This is an example of a gallon smash prank on YouTube. There are dozens more.

The videos show a person grabbing a gallon of milk or other liquid off the shelves and then purposely falling, breaking the containers on the floor.

The Hannibal Police Department says at least four local stores were victimized recently. The five suspects have been charged with property damage.

Police are warning other area stores to be aware of these incidents and to report them immediately.
