Quincy Convention and Visitors Bureau promoting area wineries

The Quincy Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is showcasing the area's seven wineries.

They've put together a new "Lucky7 Wine Guide" booklet with details and photos of each winery, as well as a list of local events.

The Convention and Visitors Bureau is also issuing a challenge to "winos" in the area. People who visit all seven wineries and note their favorite wine can enter into a contest to win a box set of seven bottles of wine, one from each winery.

Executive Director Holly Cain says it's all about showcasing what the area has to offer.

"We're really just hoping to accomplish more visitation to some of those attractions and some of those wineries, trying to get more people into our area and to experience the award winning wines that are made right here in Western Illinois," said Cain.

The guides may be picked up at the Tourist Information Center, any of the seven wineries and also Hyvee Wine & Spirits on Broadway.

They can also be downloaded at the Convention Bureau's website.
