Illinois Lottery: $250,000 ticket must be claimed soon

Posted:

CHICAGO (AP) -- The Illinois Lottery says some lucky winner of a quarter million dollars is about to become very unlucky -- or at least very upset.

A Mega Millions ticket worth $250,000 and sold in Chicago for the March 20, 2012 drawing will be worthless if March 20, 2013 comes and goes without anyone claiming the prize.

Lottery winners have exactly one year from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings.

The Lottery suggests anyone who recalls buying a ticket at J&K Liquors in Chicago last March should dig through their wallet, glove compartment or desks to look for it. There are five Lottery prize centers around Illinois where the prize can be claimed.

The winning numbers are 1, 4, 6, 11, 14 and Mega Ball number is 30.
