Shamrocks are popping up all over the Tri-States as local businesses are doing their part to raise money for muscular dystrophy research.
The Ayerco gas station on 48th and State in Quincy says they've sold over 400 shamrocks so far this month for the MDA's annual St. Patrick's Day Fundraiser.
It only takes a dollar to get your name on a green shamrock.
Ayerco store manager Debbie Waters says she's happy to be a part of the fundraiser, as it hits very close to home.
"My son came down with MS, Michael, you know they helped, they were there, and he's well now, but this helps with wheelchairs, it helps with lots of different things, repairs wheelchairs, summer camps, just fun for these kids and they need that," Ayerco manager Debbie Waters said.
Several other area businesses are participating in the shamrock fundraiser. If you'd like to donate, you have until Sunday to do so.
