Repair or replace Pittsfield water tower?

The City of Pittsfield must repair or replace one of its three water towers, but how it will be paid for is still up in the air.

Mayor John Hayden says a recent inspection of the tower at North Memorial and East Adams Streets revealed several items that must be addressed.

He said the repairs would cost about $300,000 while replacement would cost $600,000.

City officials are waiting to learn how much money the Community Development Assistance Program will offer.
