Advocacy Network for Children Holds Annual Fundraiser

It was fun, festive, and fifties at the Ambiance Saturday for the annual Advocacy Network for Children fundraiser.

The sock-hop themed event featured a live band, a silent auction and fifties style decoration.

Beyond being a fun night out, organizers said the dinner is the largest the organization has, and that it helps the Advocacy network fund the majority of their operations.

"The Advocacy Network has two programs. One is the CASA program which involves volunteers and they work with children as they go through the court system. The other program is the child advocacy centers," said Board President Kristen Ritterbusch.

Ritterbusch said the group is hoping to raise about $35,000, and most of that will go to the CASA program.

WGEM's Lesley Van Ness serves on the fundraising committee and was there supporting the Network as well.
