Quincy aldermen hear from citizens about neighborhood plan

Aldermen heard comments from citizens about the city's proposed comprehensive plan at Monday's city council meeting.

Among them was former alderman Chuck Fitch, representing a group of neighbors living in the southeast section of town.

He says there were concerns about mixing land use, especially due to development plans by the Deters family.

"I think that if they look at it and the council knows that the Deters family can come back when they want to make a request and they can grant that if they so choose - I'm hoping that the council will be positive and adopt the citywide comprehensive use plan," he said.

Aldermen heard a first presentation of the proposed comprehensive plan ordinance Monday, and it will come up for a vote at a future meeting.
