Illinois women celebrate 100 years of being able to vote


Tri-state women Were celebrating their right to vote tonight--marking the 100th anniversary of women being able to vote in Illinois.

The League of Women Voters of Adams County held an informational meeting Thursday to mark the occasion.

Dr. Virginia Boynton from Western Illinois University talked about the struggles women faced trying to get the right to vote.

Illinois was the first state east of the Mississippi to give women the right to vote.
