Canton junior guard Tyler Niemann was named All-State by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association on Thursday.
(WGEM) -- Canton boys basketball defined the word team this season.
It seemed every game there was a different leading scorer and four to five players in double figures.
One of those players has received Missouri's top individual honor.
Junior guard Tyler Niemann has been named Class 2 All-State by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.
Niemann averaged 12 points, 6.5 rebounds, and nearly seven assists per game for a Tigers team that lost just twice all season and advanced to the state quarterfinals.
And that's not all.
Highland's Derick Smith is a member of the Class 3 All-State Team courtesy of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.
Smith scored at a clip of nearly 19 points a game, pulled down 6.5 boards, and three steals per contest en route to being a unanimous First Team All-Conference selection.
Smith and the Cougars were district champs for the first time in five years before bowing out in the sectional.
