Hannibal hair stylists shave heads for cancer research

Posted: Updated:

Employees from a Hannibal hair and beauty salon got together Saturday, but instead of prepping and cutting hair, they shaved it off for cancer research.

The Powder Room in downtown Hannibal hosted a St. Baldrick's head shaving event Saturday at Kerley's Pub and Grill.

Lesley Dehner, one of the organizers of the event, got involved with the St. Baldrick's program last year, when she shaved her head in honor of her friend's niece who was diagnosed with cancer.

In addition to the head shaving event, a silent auction also took place.
