Illinois officials announce $486 million in construction projects

(WGEM) - Illinois Governor Pat Quinn announced Monday one of the largest early season construction programs in the state's history, $486 million for road and bridge projects.

Here's a list of projects in the area:

  • Adams - $230,000 – Bridge rehabilitation over unnamed drainage ditch, 2 miles west of Ursa.
  • Adams - $1.4 million – Patching, milling, resurface of pavement and shoulders, construction of AGG shoulders and guardrail, RUR of curb and gutter, median surf, widening of pavement, removal of concrete barrier and other related work on US 24 from west of I-172 to east of I-172.
  • Adams - $300,000 – 0.1 miles north of Lierly St. to 0.1 mile east of Richfield in Liberty resurfacing.
  • Cass - $5.5 million – Resurfacing, patching HMA shoulders on IL 125 from east of IL 78 in Virginia to west of Buchanan St/Fulton Lane in Ashland.
  • Hancock - $160,000 – Shoulder construction, shoulder and center line milled rumble strip, and pavement marking on IL 96 north of Powellton/Conable PD to east of Nauvoo.
  • Hancock - $200,000 – Intersection improvements at Denver/Plymouth Rd, IL 94 and E. County Rd.
  • Hancock - $150,000 – Reconstruction of 33 inlets along various locations on IL 96.
  • McDonough - $5 million – Milling and resurfacing on US 67 from near Good Hope to Warren Co. line.
  • Pike - $1.8 million – HMA removal, leveling binder, HMA surface course and shoulders, AGG shoulders, guardrail, riprap and other related work on IL 106 east of East Branch of Kiser Creek to east of Barry.
  • Scott - $350,000 – South of Naples Lane to 0.2 miles south of Elm Street in Bluffs, resurfacing and patching.

Work is expected to start later this spring.
